6 months Preggo

Well I am now 6 months pregnant. This past month has been the hardest so far. I have hit over the 10 pound marker (and it is still going) but I also have had a lot of problems with my hips and sciatic nerve. It got so bad that I was hardly able to walk. Scott had to do everything for me. I always thought it would be nice for him to do a lot of the work but when I couldn't even get up to get a drink it pretty much sucked. Thank goodness for my doctors recommendation to a chiroprator, she has been a miracle worker. I am doing so so much better and am having very little pain. I am on a treatment plan for 5 weeks. I have to go 3 times a week; where I am having my back and hips adjusted, muscle work done, and being taught stretches that are strengthening my core.
I am still craving beef and am so excited because Scott and I just found the best philly-cheesesteak place in Clear Lake. So we will be going there at least once a week!
School is almost out and thank goodness, I have found that my frustration and temper have really started to shorten with my class.
We are busy getting our house ready for Christmas and still working on the nursery. Scott has finally finished painting!
And best yet- we have decided on a name and it is- Calvin Scott Ede. :-)

baby room

Well we have started working on the baby room. Maybe more Scott then me. We put the crib together and Scott has begun painting. We were going to go for a neutral room but once we found out it was a boy we decided to go blue. The room is going to be two tone, a baby blue and then the back wall will be a darker blue. It should be really cute and will match the blue bedding great! Wow hopefully the ultrasound were right and we are havign a boy. Scott is also turning an old dresser into the changing station. He has begun to sand off the old varnish and he will paint it a color close to the crib. I can't wait for all of this to come together
Almost done! Three walls wil be this color. The back wil be the dark color.

Ultrasound pictures

Tiff-Here are a few ultrasound pictures from 15 weeks. This is when we first found out he was a he! It was so cool to see hime moving all around. I wasn't able to feel him at this time so it was a little weird knowing a little baby was moving around inside me. Since this time we had another ultrasound that looked at all his major organs. Everything looked great and they again were able to tell us that he was a boy for sure!
Yay! It's a boy!

Tiff- I have learned a little more now that I am farther along. When taking pictures that will be posted on a blog try to look somewhat nice.

Many things have happened in the last two months. I have really started to show, I have begun to feel a lot of movement, and Scott can feel him move too. I am feeling really good, except I have to tinkle all the time because he is sooo low and pretty much sits on my bladder. ;-) I have also started having lots of food cravings that aren't so good for me. I mostly crave beef and baked goods, what a great combination.

Belly Shots

Scott-For those playing along at home, here are some belly shot's of Tiff to show how she's coming along. Well some belly shot's and the moment my jaw dropped. I think if you look closely, you can see the dent where my jaw hit the counter in the picture. Tiffany Looks great and I can't believe we're only three months along! This week we have our second ultrasound. If we're lucky, maybe we'll get to know the sex of the baby! I can't wait.

170 Heartbeats/Minute

Our first sonogram, and the baby has a healthy heartbeat of 170 beats per minute! That is wonderful. Last time we did the ultrasound the baby was at 120 beats per minute and now it's picked up pace. A healthy heartbeat is between 120-180 bpm so it seems we've hit about every combination in that range.

In four weeks we'll have another ultrasound and hopefully be able to tell the sex of the baby. You're probably wondering if we want to know the sex of the baby? The answer is heck yea! Why wouldn't we? I keep telling everyone that at least we can get the color of the baby's room right. It's a good start.

Speaking of the baby's room, we've decided to use Tiffany's dresser as the baby changing station, but only after some wood stripping and a new coat of paint. Have I ever stripped a dresser before? Nope. Have I ever had a baby? Nope. I guess we'll find out how it goes. I'll try to post pictures of the process if I can. Hopefully it will turn out all right. If it doesn't, the dresser will probably take a quick stroll from the garage where it's currently located, to the Tuesday Morning curb where any furniture we've ever put out there (broken old desk, uninstalled glass bath shower door) has magically disappeared before the garbage truck ever arrives. Something about trash fairies? Sure if that's what you want to call them.

Well short of the occasional flying chair at school, Tiff is doing well. I'm just trying to take it all in and enjoy myself during this time. One book I read suggested sleeping in, or just leaving the house on a whim with no schedule. I'm trying to take those suggestions up because once baby arrives, our lives will be turned upside down. A little over 6 months to go!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Tiffany and I are Pregnant!!!!!!

Well, "preggers' as we like to call it amongst ourselves and our friends. We're in her 6th week so it's a little early but we decided to tell everyone anyway! I'm soo excited, Tiffany is so excited.

We've been spending a lot of time lately on the sofa, just trying to not succumb to morning sickness. I've been trained well enough now to know that when Tiffany starts getting restless in the morning to just get up and make toast right away. I'm considering just setting the toaster up in the bedroom next to the alarm clock. Buzzer goes off, hit the snooze button, and then hit the toast button. Mabye that's a new invention right there. You could call it the Morning sickness snoozer alarm clock. Of course it wouldn't be as fancy as something out of Wallace and Grommit, but it would do.

To combat the morning sickness, Tiffany's sister Christina bought us these candies that are all natural, and are supposed to help soothe nausea. Oddly enough they're kosher too. I wonder what Rabbi gets that job, just sitting at the end of a conveyer belt, like that famous episode of I love lucy, blessing each piece of candy as it comes off the line. Well no verdict yet on the candies. If I hear a pause in the moaning from the sofa, I'll consider it a victory.

Tomorrow is our first Ultrasound. Pictures to follow (if there are any, I have no idea about any of this). I'll be going to the appointment also after I swoop into work to try for a new position/job. From what I hear, they don't use the attachment on the belly. Since it's so early, they have to use a different attachment. Lets just say, the attachment requires a condom. I'm not sure if I'll be grossed out or turned on. Probably neither, just amazed when I hear the baby's heartbeat.

We've been talking about names lately too. Tiffany has already picked out a few that she likes. Of course we'll both have to agree on the names, and I want to offer some suggestions too. I've proposed we play a game, where we both pick two names, each month until the baby is born. We'll put them in a bag and around delivery, we'll pull them out and see which of the nominations we like best. It sounds fun and all, but I'm sure we'll just end up picking something on our own. Suggestions are welcome!!!

I'll be working on getting pictures posted of the baby, us (we still don't have a profile picture) and just our life in general. So expect to see some changes around the ol' Blog.
